In recent years, with the rapid development of the logistics industry, warehousing and logistics work has become more and more important and challenging. To address this challenge, many warehousing and logistics companies are beginning to adopt advanced automated guided vehicle (AGV) systems to improve efficiency and reduce manpower costs. In AGV system, one of the widely used equipment is the mecanum wheel with high load capacity and full direction rotation.
A Mecanum Wheel is a specially designed wheel that has the ability to move in all directions and is able to rotate freely in all directions. In AGV systems, mecanum wheels are mounted on the base of the vehicle and are able to provide fast and flexible mobility. This omnidirectional rotation feature enables the AGV to operate accurately in tight storage Spaces while reducing steering time and redundant movements.
This omnidirectional movement is based on the principle of a central wheel with many shafts located around the wheel, which are angled to convert part of the steering force of the wheel into a normal force of the wheel.
Depending on the direction and speed of the respective wheels, the final combination of these forces produces a resultant force vector in any desired direction, thus ensuring that the platform can move freely in the direction of the resultant force vector without changing the direction of the wheels themselves. There are many small rollers distributed diagonally on its rim, so that the wheel can slip laterally. The busbar of the small roller is very special. When the wheel rotates around the fixed axle of the wheel, the envelope of each small roller is a cylindrical surface, so the wheel can roll forward continuously. With compact structure and flexible movement, the mecanum wheel is a very successful all-round wheel. There are four of these new wheels combined, can be more flexible and convenient to achieve all-round movement function.
